I completely admit that I was very dumb for making this mistake, but today I finally was able to make the $370 payment and get a new green card. While I was e-filling I put my current city as the city that I was born in (I know I should have been more careful
) Well I called USCIS as they just said write a letter to the office that will be processing your application, which you can just wait for the receipt letter being mailed to you, and just explain to them that you made that mistake and if they could change it.
I didn’t make the mistake with the A number, my name, or anything like that, just that city name.
Does anyone have any advice as to what I should do now? Of course I’m going to write the letter and send it the moment I get the I-797, but does anyone suggest I do anything else? I hope I can send it certified at least, if not get the notice from the post office that they delivered it without signature if it’s a PO box.
Thank you for your time.
