I am on H1B (valid till 2011, not stamped, but Ive approval notice)and I am leaving job in first week of August, however I will be paid for unused vacation days, which run through 3rd week of August, i.e. my last pay stub will be until 3rd week of August.
My question is: how long can one typically stay such as in my case (Im planning to travel to India at end of Aug). I ve been reading only unofficial rule grace period is 10 days (which is pretty ridiculous!!)
. I was wondering if I stay 3 weeks after quitting, will there be any future problems.
Btw, I am PhD Biology and work as scientist, as such not subjected to H1 cap.
