hire H1B (one of my friends got the GC thru the state
environment prot agency\'s sponsorship).

Some illegal immigranst have to do government\'s military
jobs if drafted

Soit all depends but generally important positions
are reserved for citizens.

This is interesting. How can illegal immigrants be drafted? I would think that they would be deported when caught by the government. What a mess!

Selective Service. You\'ll find illegal male immigrants
between 18-26 must register.

if u serve in the military as illegal theres a way for u to obtain ur papers that would happend only during war(i am talking about a real one Afganistan is like a training camp unfortunatly; with some casualties), invasion by ET

The U.S. has engaged in a war in Afganistan (if you have listened to Mr. Bush\'s national broadcast speach on 9/11 and the on the 1st day of military action). All deployed illegal aliens (if any) and other aides can get legal immigration papers.

I am sure that you are right. However, I still cannot comprehend how they can ask an illegal person to register with Selective military service. It must be sending a very confusing message to illegals.

Well, I don\'t know. The IRS also requires that illegal immigrants
(many of whom do not even have a SSN) pay taxes. If you
get a Selective Service Registration card, you can find
it says SSS shares its info with other government agencies
including the INS on regular basis.

Such dillema is not limited to immigration. In fact, the IRS
also ask drug dealers to pay taxes on drug money and
it is a common advice among these drug dealers that the
risk of being busted by the IRS for evading taxes is
greater than that of being arrested by the cop for drug
trade.

i was doing my mba recently, and one of my friends (Indian citizen) who had a GC was offered a job by the CIA.

The only promise that a government agency make not to
share the info with other government organization,
as far as I ever know, is the one made during the census
like last year. Don\'t know if they would keep their
words if a the most wanted one on that terrorist
list returned the survey on which he say who he
is.
