Hi, I got the Oath Letter this saturday......my finger printing was about to expire on May 5th and the Oath is scheduled for May 5th....my dates are

Notice Date - January 14th 2003
Finger Printed - May 5th 2003
Interview on January 15th 2004
Oath ceremony May 5th 2004......

let me tell you guys that if your Oath ceremony is waiting for long time.......this is waht I did eventhough it was only 3 months......I went to the loal office and inquired abouth the Oath as usual the IIO office was not happy and asked....whta the interviwer told me after the interview...I told hr the truth that she said it will "come in mail" immediatley the IIO officer said "yea it will come in the mail" I drove 320 miles with my 18 month son.....an i was upset with her reply.......I thought it is because of their issues I am getting delayed....and on top of that she was very angry with me....(there was a reason for her to be angry because the person in-front me in line called her names like b****......just because she did not answer his question....) .....I decided in my mind driving back home I am going to Senator the next day and complain about this....that is exactly what I did ....BUT do not know whether senator office did something or the INS realized that my FP is getting expired....then sent me the Oath ceremony....thanks for all the help you guys have posted....especially Joef....and Mr. Khanna.....

Unless we shake some trees these INS people are not going to move anything................

bye

Congrads .... You drove 320 miles to your local DO? Where do you live ? And did an applicant really call the INS officer names ? Wow!

Anyway, good for you.

Wait a minute...fingerprints expire in one year??

What happens if your Oath date (or G-d forbid interview) comes after your fingerprints have expired??

Congrats Gou!! :D

Ibm101,

I know you tried contacting your local congressman, but since ur FP is abt to expire contact a senator on the Immigration sub cmte. Sen Ted Kennedy (MA) is one I can think of... Explain your case to them if ur local politician is not helpful.. My 2 cents

Thx Rahul:

You know I am in California. Would this Ted Kennnedy (MA) help me. If so could you please give me his mailing address and Fax & ph#. I shall very much appreciate. I am really disgusted with this delay in my Oath ceremony.

ibm101,

You can visit senate.gov and lookup Sen. Kennedy's or other memeber's info

http://judiciary.senate.gov/subcommittees/immigration.cfm

This cmte provides oversight of the immigration-related functions . They have country wide jurisdiction. You being from CA wont have an impact. However if they tell u to contact ur local sen, tell them u did it and no results. Take some time , use utmost sincerity, communicate ur problem, expected action to them. Dont just send a fax and sit on it, call someone and spk with them.

It is my belief that if one of these people mail or call the CIS, they will respond IMMEDIATELY as these folks regulate bills and oversee the CIS. I think your case would qualify for an expedite (atleast I would act on it if I was the senator!!)

all the best
Rahul
