got passport stamped

I got my passport stamped yesterday at the New Orleans INS office. Had the info pass appointment. I don't think it makes any difference though unless there is a huge line of people. We turned in our passport in 5 minutes with the past EADs ( 8 of them!:), I-94 and pictures and they called us after one and half hours to hand us our passport with the stamp on it! Ofcourse she toook our thumb prints too.

I was happy but couldn't react because of what I have went thru past 14 yeras just for this stamp! She said teh actual card will be in the mail and we should get it in upto a year.

1. How long does it actually take to get the plastic card in the mail?
2. Can I travel outside the country without the card? ( I mean with just the stamp on my passport?)
Thanks.

Even I got my PP stamped in New Orleans on Sep 13 2004.

1. I too need that answer.
2. Yeah you can travel outside the country with the stamped passport. Just take a copy of your approval notice to be on the safe side.

what are co? cm? LUD? I am curious to know.

Let me know how long it usually takes to receive the actual plastic card in the mail.
Thanks.

It took around 2 months for me to receive the PC, but less than a month for another friend.

Yes - u can travel w/o the PC, I did that. Ofcourse, at the immigration line, you will be told to go into the office where an officer will question you some personal details to make sure you are the same person. Like, what is ur Last port of entry, mother's name, which center processed ur request, what is the date ur I485 was approved etc.,,

LUD - Last update date, CO, CM - Card Ordered, Mailed.
