Got my shiny new US Passport...

It's such a thrill, really. I have to say the picture is quite horrible, but I don't care :D

Here's my question - anyone recently gone to Indian Consulate in New York for their entry visa?

In the instructions, it says Entry Visas are limited to 5 years. But in the application, it allows you to check off "Entry" and "10 Years".

Also, how do you get to the Indian Consulate (i.e. Subway line and stop). Which entrance do you go to drop off your Entry Visa application? Do they really give it back to you on the same day?

Thanks in advance,

Ratrat

For U.S. Citizens the option for 10 year visitor visa is available. I believe it is $150...

Did not RATRAT post the timeline?
Here it is
US Passport Applied: 06/15/2004
US Passport Received: 07/27/2004

Seems like along with my immigration God the paranoid god too came to you? Give them both back here. Will ya ? ROFL

Ratrat: For passport application, is it REQUIRED to send the original naturalization certificate or a photocopy of the certificate is acceptable? Thanks.

question was for Ratrat...but i know the answer...

U must send the original document. u will receive it back with ur new shiny passport. RatRAt i am sure ur passport smells like Brand new crisp 100$ bill.

Yes you have to send in the original naturalization certificate, but it came back to me in tip-top shape along with my passport...

I don't think you are allowed to make copies of your naturalization certificate unless a USCIS form explicitly states that you can (like maybe for an N-600 petition)

Heck, not just a $100 bill, it smells like a $500...it's gold!!!

:D
