GOt my GC stamped

I got my GC stamped

1.Had to wait outside Santa Anna office since 5 AM in morning.The office opens at 7. BCIS employees came till 8 AM.
2.Went to different floors for getting waiting numbers.
3.IIO called me and my wife when my number came.
4.Never asked anything for any documents except 2 photo, I94 and passport.
5.Took the above stated documents and also took our signatures and FP.
6.Returned after 15 minutes with our passports stamped and said thanks for visiting BCIS
7.Whole process took 2 hours.


I am surprised at the way their courtesous behaviour.

Santa Ana office doesn't consider I-485 approval notice as appointment letter, does it ?

How about L.A. office ?
Does somebody know ?

The approval letter is always considered as the appointment letter. Just that the security guards don't usually know that.

Best option is to stand in the appointment line and wait till the office opens, after which the INS officials will gladly let you in for stamping!

But that is a very long way off! As best put by Robert Frost:
I have miles to go before I sleep!

Thanks for the info, 140_takes_4ever.
However, according to USCIS web site,
it is true only for San Jose office.
Santa Ana office and L.A. office seem not to have the appointment line.
Also, I remember that Silly Man posted about L.A. office.
