Got my FP notice. But last name is wrong.

FP scheduled on 04/11/03 in Atlanta

Everything looks good on the FP notice (A#, SRC#, SSN) except my last name. Instead of "I", they typed "L". Will this be a problem? If I bring my 485 receipt notice and prove this FP notice is for me, should it be all right?

And my husband doesn't receive his FP notice. I'm the primary applicant. I will call my lawyer to see if she's got it.

Another question

If I do my FP earlier than the scheduled day, what time in a day is good? The earlier, the better?

the FP process includes verifying all your information on their computer system. Make sure any errors are corrected on the day FP is done.

They went through all my details with me on their system. The A# is probably the most important. Show them your name on driver's license and I-485 receipt where there is a corresponding A#

If going early, most people are encouraged to go on Wednesdays or Saturdays because those are the days INS will assign if a reshedule of FP is needed. There is no rule on which day or what time to go since INS does not encourage you to go early. I went early on a Saturday morning.

My husband got his FP notice today

He's scheduled to FP on 04/18/03, a week later from mine. But we plan to go this Sat. morning.

FP done.

Today, we went to the ASC in Atlanta and got FP done. The whole process was very smoothy, and the officers there were nice.

They didn't check my info in the system though. When I asked them to correct my last name for FP, they told me they can't change it but they put, in "other names", my correct last name. I hope this won't be a problem. I still believe they have the correct name in their system judging from the I765 receipt I received recently for EAD renewal. But I will call to find out. You know INS, anything is possible with them...

You may call FBI by Tuesday. Talk to them about the name etc.
They are generally computerised and should already be correct. Have your A number ready.

I called FBI this morning. Both FP's are cleared. I asked her about my last name. She told me the wrong name will be on my FP card and I have to call INS to correct it, :(.

So I tried the 1800 number first. The IIO told me to write a letter to TSC to correct the last name on FP. I told her if I just write a letter, I won't be able to track it and how I can know if it gets processed. She said this is the only way. And when I asked her to give me a TSC number, she gave me the old 214-381-1423.

Then I called the 214 number even though I know this number may not be working now. And, it turned out it is NOT. It just has a message to ask you to call the 1800 number. What a mess! Now, thanks to INS, I have two names one of which no one can ever pronounse it because it doesn't have a vowel in it!.
