Got Laif off during I-140 stage from iORMYX, Inc (Formerly ISSI), Please help....!

Gurus,

I recently got laid off from iORMYX,Inc (Formerly ISSI) and I have applied my I-140
in October 2000 in EB2 but not yet approved. I have been with this company for the past 2 years, suddenly I got
this shock as I was in bench for a month.

I have a family and I am really worried . what are my chances...?
Will I be out of status...? Is there any way I can get my GC...?

Please advice...!!

Friends, my sincere advice is whoever is looking for a job,Don\'t even consider
joining this company. They will jeopardize your future badly..

I am EXTREMLY SORRY to say this, but as far as I know, there is know way you can continue your GC process from where you are now, with any other company, unless your I-140 gets approved before you were laid off & your present employer agrees not to cancel it. It is better to start looking for an employer right away and (re-)start your GC process without any further delay, right from H-1B. Please note that this is only what I understand about the laws and you may want to contact a legal expert....

Yes what Govind said is true. The best thing is to start a new H1 + new GC. But doing that at the same time if there is a chance if the current GC employer did not inform the INS, then you can hold to it until 140 gets approved plus 180 days, so that after that you can start continuiing from where you left(as GC is for future employment). It is a wild guess, I am not sure.
