Guys:
My wife and My 485 got approved on 06/28. I got my passport stamped at newark on 07/10 and got laid off on 08/02, My wife's passport still needs to be stamped as she is out of the country and will be returning this week.
Is there any possible problem that we could face for her passport stamping and also how many days is a person supposed to be working after the passport gets stamped.

Thanks
Nick

Legally there can be a problem(if you ask a perfectionist lawyer).

But in real world, you guys are just fine. If a company lays off the employee after green card approval, then its not your fault (your intent was to work for the employer).

Only thing that I can think of is under what status your wide would come back to US ( she might have AP or H4 ) and I think that should be fine.

But its just my opinion.. its better to seek legal opinion to make things more clear.

If you got approval letter from INS, just bring that and whatever it is asking for. Have her stamp her PP. INS will have no info that you got laid off from your company. she should be okay.

Stamping

Your wife should be fine. Just take the approval notice and anything else thay may have asked for and stamp the passport. I don't see how the INS will know that you were laid-off.
