Renewal EAD: WAC-03-167-5XXXX (ND: 2003-MAY-09)
my current EAD was going to expire on 2003-SEP-10 (although this never came up). my renewal I-765 had been pending for more than 90 days (since 2003-MAY-09). so i decided to go to the sacramento sub-office to get my interim EAD.
06:00 - arrived at the sacramento sub-office
07:00 - gates open and u go thru building security
07:40 - got to the BCIS info desk. told person that i was applying for iEAD. she just looked at copy of my I-765 receipt and issued a ticket. she also gave me a new I-765 form to fill out.
10:45 - finally called to one of the windows. the person just looked at copy of I-765 receipt and copy of I-485 receipt. he kept the completed I-765 application and the copy of my pending I-765 receipt and told me to wait.
11:45 - called to window again and given receipt for $0.00. told to go to room 220 and wait.
12:40 - called to window and person asked for a photo id. i used my driver's licence. she took finger prints and photo.
12:43 - issued iEAD valid for 8 months (till 04/18/2004).
it's a pretty straightforward process at sacramento with almost no questions (they didn't even look at my I-94 card and passport, nor any previous EAD cards). long wait though.
so it seems all u need is:
- completed I-765 application
- copy of your pending I-765 receipt
- copy of pending I-485
