Hello Friends,

Today i got my IEAD(original EAD was pending since from NOV 21). Follwing documents are asked.

1. Copy of EAD renewal receipt
2. Driver license
3. Old EAD card

IEAD card was issued for 3 months and lady said if you did not
with in the three months "come and get another IEAD card"

Do you need to take an appointment? Do they fingerprint/photograph you?

No fees needed for IEAD for any INS service center, and also no photos they will take pictuers


Documents asked:
1. Copy of EAD renewal receipt
2. Driver license
3. Old EAD card

Documents are not asked : (But always take these documents with you, just to be safe)



1. 140 approval notice or pending notices
2. Copy of I-485 petition (Adjustment of Status Application Pending with VSC)
3. Passport
4. Copy of I-94

Go early at Newark. They accept only certain # of applications every day, probably 300. The office opens at 8 but even if you reach by 6:30AM there should be 100+ people in the queue. And make sure you go after 90 days of your EAD renew receipt date.

Take passport, I-485 receipts, old EAD card, Drivers License and take a I-765 form filled (to save time filling out the application there). Take marriage certificate if your spouse is applying (in case you are primary applicant). Photographs will be taken at the office.

FYI.. I went to Newark on 2/26/04, I was in the first 50 but was out at noon with the iEAD. So go as early as possible to get out soon.

The practice of picture and fees varies from center to center- so people need to be careful/ascertain- when going to a different center.
