Hi Folks,

I got my iEAD today after spending nearly 6 hrs at the Sacramento INS office. I went at 7:45 and there was no line at all anywhere. The lady at the counter didn't ask anything when I told her I'm here to get an interim EAD, she gave me a copy of the 765 form to fill and a token no.
Filled it and gave it at the counter when my token no. and told her that my EAD was expiring and need a new one. She noted my receipt no. and asked me to wait and I'll be called again. Was called, got a $0 receipt, went to room where EADs are issued, they took my old card and gave a new one. It's post-dated - from the date my old EAD expires (which is Feb 10th).
FYI: My RD was 11/20/02 and ND was 12/4/02

Goodluck,

TheWho.

Good info, still it is not sure about other local INS offices, if they will give it or not. But it is worth a try.

vipsha,

You are right, not just is it not any indication of INS inclination but it might not work in the same INS again. People should keep that in mind.

Nonetheless, Congratulations TheWho. :D I am sure you are one relieved dude!

140,

I'm certainly relieved; now I don't have to check both case statuses.

Considering that I've completed only 62 days since ND, it's quite remarkable that they managed to renew my EAD. As I said before, if they think not to issue one, you have to make a case. Apparently, the American public can be influenced very easily, you'll notice if you've paid attention to national politics...

Nevertheless, it's takes nothing in trying. If you have an EAD which is expiring and your impending EAD application has no RFE, you're quite likely to get one. I'm sure the INS understands persent-day circumstances.

Any Experience at SFO

Who,Tajindia or anyoneon the forum ....

Where do u guys think i should go to the SFO or some place else.....

Anybody having experience with the SFO office and what time i need to go,etc.

I am going on 10th(Monday) to the INS office for my iEAD.

Thankx

I presume that the scenario at any INS office is similar to any other.

Ideally you would want to be there between 7 and 7:30. I did notice that INS offices aren't that crowded as they used to be last year. The later you go, the longer you wait. I think there's a limit of 100 tokens per day at most offices.
