Got iEAD at San Jose

I and my wife arrived at 5am. Were 25th and 26th in the line. Took iEADs at 10am.
The officer asked me where the iEAD card they gave me last time. I had no idea where it is, perhaps I destroyed it when received regular EAD by mail. I told that I left the old iEAD at home. The officer ACTED like he was going to deny iEAD but approved it in fact.

So, here is the list of docs required in San-Jose.

- I-765 Application (1 page - same as you filed to CSC, you can download and prepare it at home)
- Copy of I-765 receipt (They verify whether MORE than 90 days since RD passed)
- Copy of I-485 receipt
- Old EAD card
- Old iEAD card if any (!)
- Passport (they verify I-94)
- Driver license (they verify that you belong to San Jose district)

Went to the San Jose INS office at 4:45 a.m today. There were about 20 people in front of me in the line. They let us in at 7:00 a.m.

Got the iEAD after completing all the procedures. I was out of that place by 8:45 a.m.

Documents you need to take:

1. Form I 765
2. Old EAD
3. Passport / I94
4. Drivers license
5. Any recent bill which carries your name and current address.
(say PG & E bill)

Everything went fine.

Why do they need I-94? The reason I'm asking this is because my I-94 is expired and I am working on EAD? Would this cause a problem when I go for iEAD?

Please suggest.

Thanks.
