Things went wrong at security check point when they saw from the monitor the tiny little metal thing, which they called "knife", in my handbag. I realized it was part of my key chain and apologized for it immediately. But the security guard jumped on my face any way. He told me to shut up and pay attention while he's talking @#$%... Finally he returned me the handbag and let me take out the key chain and handed it over. So the "knife" was confiscated.
Yes, this brainless guard put the "potential weapon" back in your hand!!
One minute later, I was about to get a token from an IIO. I showed him my I-765 receipt and told him politely "my ead application has passed 90 days already". He showed me the attitude "should I need you to tell me about that?"
Besides, everything else was OK.
My token was #30, 29 ppls ahead of me. Around 10:00 am, they stopped giving tokens and asked those arrived late to come again next day.
I guess the earlier you come, the shorter the wait. IIOs take lunch break too.
Yes, you have to live in San Jose area in order to get I-EAD in San Jose INS.
The 90 days was counted from RD, instead of ND. The supervisor did count it carefully.
The original I-765 receipt was returned back to me. Only the copy was taken.
My I-EAD is good for 8 months.
