Got IEAD and AP from Newark today

Guys:

I got IEAD and AP from Newark today. Almost waited for 5 1/2 hrs, paid nothing for IEAD, was asked to pay $130 for AP but told them that I have already pending AP with VSC for more than 90 days, showed them the receipt, the fee was waived.

Asked for the reason told them Vacation....


Anyone any idea about this:

1. IEAD issued for 1 year if this normal, I thought they issued it for shorted period.


2. More important, with the AP there was a questionnaire in which there was question if filed I-485 and date filed that is fine then there was a question what was the last status when you entered US, I entered H1-B, my H1-B expired in Nov-02.

There was also coloumn when was the status expired, the officer asked me to enter the H1 expire date, I told him that shouldn't it be EAD date as I have been working on EAD from Nov-02 onwards he insisted for H1-B, I am just thinking will that cause any problem in tha 180 days warning, did anyone else had the same thing?

Do you know if I can get an AP from Newark even if I live in New York and have an I131 pending in VSC.

Sorry dude, as I had went on Friday, today I was directly sent to the application counter, so in a way no inquiry, the officer was very serious looking and clearly showed no signs of anwering any question.

What I would suggest is give it a shot, go to see Newark and tell them, NY is not giving it... and see what happens.

There were couple of people for AP today...

As suggested by you earlier, I did tell them about the pending I131 then the officer waived the fee.

Any clue about the question which I have posted?

I think Item No. 2 is very important. Unfortinately I don't have the experience yet (I wish I will not as my 3rd EAD adn AP are still pending and approaching to 60 days). Maybe you should ask your attorney?
