I've been in the US on J1, B1/B2, and currently in 4th year of H1B. My job is "intern architect". I want to apply for a green card but the few immigration attorney's I've talked to say that the employer has to advertise my job, and if ANYONE applies for it, then it's game over, my application gets denied?!

My J1 and H1B were all with the same employer that I worked with before I graduated, and after graduation until present. I've got a 4yr BSc Hons Architecture degree from the UK, and 3+ years experience (post-graduate) with the same US employer.

Am I looking at an impossible task?.. or is there something I can do to make it easier for me to get a GC.. other than marry a citizen?

My girlfriend is a GC holder for 5+ years I think... (DV Lottery winner)... Not sure if that is of any use. I presume she would need to become a citizen?
