Hi,
I need some help with my H1 visa situation right now. I came to USA in 2002 for an MBA. I completed that in December 2003 and started full-time employment in Feb 2004. I applied for the H1 B visa and was approved in September 2004. I have all the original documents with me (I 797 – Approval Notice etc.). I accordingly took a visa interview date at the Mumbai consulate for January 19th 2005. Unfortunately my company has been acquired and I will be losing my job around the second week of January. Can you answer my following questions:
1) Should I go to India and get the H1 stamp on my passport?
2) Stay here and look for a new job, transfer my H1, cancel my appointment in India, re-apply and then go for the stamping?
Which of these 2 options will give me more time to stay in USA? Also, if you have any other suggestions they are most welcome.
Thanks!
