Hey guys,
It is my turn finally. I received GC approval notice for myself, wife and 2 kids. I want to thank each one of you for all your message posts so far, which has kept me going.
Here is a short story on how my gc process went. I am writing this so that people like me can continue to have hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I started my GC process way back in 1998. It took me close to 2.5 years for labor certification. I relocated to UK after applying for I-140. I-140 got approved in 9 months time, then applied for consular processing. This was during the 2002/03 timeframe. Due to market conditions I accepted a retrenchment offer from my company in UK. Right after I resigned (kinda layoff with some monetary benefits), I received a letter to appear for GC final interview (consular processing), which obviously I couldn't attend as I had left the company.
Then relocated permanently to India and then came back to US for a project. Called the previous company to see if my labor was still available. Out of the thousands of labor certs that have been substituted only two were still available, one was mine. Appled for a job in the same company for a lower position and waited for exactly 3 years and got my GC today.
Case details:
1998 labour application
2003: consular processing abandoned
2005 Dec: I-485 applied for my own labor which was approved in 2001
2008 Dec: GC approval email
There were no LUDs at all whatsoever. Also in the last 4 or 5 months I have written letters to congressman, senator, opened SR, gone to USCIS office infopass etc. Congressman and Senator responded back immediately with the responses they received from the USCIS.
Just yesterday I received a mail from USCIS saying my application is waiting service consideration.
Thanks again everyone for all your support. I pray God that each and everyone of you get your GC as soon as possible. I will continue to watch this thread and definitely provide responses if I anyone needs any info.
