Folks,
I just got email approvals for my I-485 and my spouse's I-485. The email for my case came in yesterday and the email for my spouse came in this morning (June 07).

Some relevant info:
- Our ND was July 26, 2000.
- Got RFI (NOT RFE) for medical on March 07, 005
- CIS received the medical on March 29, 2005
- Did fingerprint and biometric on March 30, 2005.
- After FP, case status was updated (prior to yesterday) on March 31, 2005.

My prayers are with the rest of us in general and for those who are waiting for approval in particular.

Cheers,
lee_haircut5

Congrants!

I am really happy for you and your family. It looks like CIS is processing beyond their estimated cut over date for this year, ND of on or before May 2000. Very promising.

It is time for those of you who are approved to join the proposed petition to have the years you spent waiting to be counted towards citizenship. At least the three years CIS wasted because they failed to process the full 10,000 adjustments as required by law at the time.

Congrats Lee Haircut! Finally it's over for you so enjoy the moment! Paramvir, have you gotten your card yet?

Lee,
Was your March 30, 2005 fingerprint, the very first time you were fingerprinted? Also, did they take both the fingerprint and biometrics together? If so, what was the fingerporint code on the notice? Thanks.

Congratulations to both of you, and good luck with Citizenship now, i wish you get it in less than four years :)

Do not count on anything. My RD was May 2000, and these incompetent clowns sent my file to a local office which is currently processing cases with RD of Jan, 2005!

What a shame!

To Hismercy,
March 30 2005 was the FIRST time I did fingerprint after I submitted the I-485.

During the fingerprint mania in 2004, I did not get any fingerprint notice while many people I did know, got it. We were worried at the time.

I just got another email from USCIS that says this:
On June 8, 2005, the card order was completed and we mailed the
applicant's new card directly to him or her. If 14 days have passed and you
have not received this card, you may wish to verify or update your
address. To update your address, please call the National Customer Service
Center at (800) 375-5283.

Does this mean that the actual card was mailed? So I don't have to get a stamp anymore? Could anyone who has gone through this please share?

Also, Paramivir1 said that the actual card should arrive in 10-12 days. Have you gotten yours?

I'll keep you posted on what happens.

i hav'n got my card yet.but the e-mail that you got clearly says we will get it in days, cuz it's in the mail rite now.
and i got stamped on my RTD today.
and i asked immigration lady in san jose about backdated card.
she said.".i feel bad ,cuz we are doing the mistake and you guys will have to pay $70 to get renew it..( i-90 form).

Paramvir1,
Is it necessary to get a stamp on RTD or on a blank white paper (as some people indicated in past postings)?

What did they stamp anyway on your RTD?

BTW, does anyone knows or has a theory, what was going on - April, May, Jun... -2004, so many people got called for fingerprints, including myself?

Asylum Applyed 09-1999
Asylum Approved 02-2000
I-485 RD 02-28-01
I-485 ND 03-05-01
3rd FP 05-12-04

lee_haircut5,

Today, USCIS sent the same e-mail to my wife and said about the same thing, "On June 8, 2005, the card order was completed and we mailed the applicant's new card directly to him or her. If ..." There were actually 5 emails with the same contents. We will see when we receive the card.

Just a half hour ago, I checked online status. Thank god, they just approved my i-485. I have not received email notice yet at this moment.

Our NDs are early August 2000.

After approval in February we've got I-94 stamped. Plastic will come in a few months. That what we've heard from immigration clerk at local office. Looks like you have absolutely different information. Did you send your current picture? How they can issue GC without It?

Nana, we have done biometrics. It included fingerprint, photograph and signature. So they have everything to make the card.

ya it's new procedure .if you have done biometrics , they can make your card right after approval.look at this information for more clarification

Applicants will receive their I-551 cards shortly after approval of their I-485's in the near future

USCIS is working on a procedure wherein applicants would get their biometrics for card production taken at the ASC at the same time that they get their fingerprints taken for name-check purposes. As a result, applicants will receive their I-551 cards shortly after approval of their I-485's. However, the applicants will have to appear at a service office only once. The procedure will give rise to the need for applicants to make InfoPass appointments and go into local offices except if they have an immediate need for temporary evidence of status. Applicants who filed during the year 2005 for adjustment in recent months have been receiving the notices to appear for both fingerprints and biometrics. Applicants who do not need fingerprints are being scheduled for biometrics only. NSC is also scheduling many applicants who filed prior to 2005 for their biometrics. Many of these applicants have not yet had their biometrics taken when their case was approved. These individuals will be receiving an appointment notice soon after approval to appear for biometrics. Districts can still provide the I-551 stamp.
.
about getting stamped it's good to have two(proof of permanent resident)instead of one..
stamp is like this...

"A # XXXXXX
processed for temporary evidence of lawful admission of permanent residence.valid untill..________one year date.
COA...AS6"
