Got the congressman's letter today, thought it was good news, but really disappointed to find out that my name check has been pending since 3/11/03. This is something new, 'cos I was told NC pending since Sep 03.
Here is the message:
"... A review of FBI's Name Check Program database revealed that a request from USCIS on Mr. XXX was received on March 11, 2003, and is currently pending. Due to increased national security concerns, in December 2002 to mid January 2003, the USCIS submitted an additional 2.7 million name checks for processing to the FBI. Although 99.8% of these cases have been processed, the NNCP section is still clearing residuals for those priority cases. ..."
Congressman said he will do another inquiry for me in 60 days. The best those politicians can do is to make an inquiry for the status.
I am going to write letters with my FIOPA, notarized certificate of no-criminal records from my home country (maybe useless), inquiry result from congressman, and send them to Hardy and Hooton through certified mail. It couldn't do any harm, at least...
