Got cards

I got our (wife + me) cards today. I am pleasently surprised by INS' speed.

My details are:

NSC
ND 9/02
AD 7/2004
Card ordered 10/12/2004
Got cards 10/22/04

surprised by the speed of INS. We got it stamped in chicago on 09/17 and got the cards on 10/23. Just took a month. However, I had applied for my I-485 at california service center, but moved to chicago two years ago. Stamping was done in chicago.

:) HURRAH!!! :)Apparently, MIRACLES do happen and I hope they don't cease to happen then we all will have something additional to celebrate at the end of the tunnel.
 
how do we know that the card is ordered...!!!!

Guys, how will we know if the card if ordered after passport stamping? Will our case status reflect this information? Thanks!

Yes. It does change to "Card Ordered ...".

Did you receive a "Welcome Letter" first?
 
Unofficially, you are supposed to get your GC around 60 days after you got stamped. According to the website, if you haven't you should call CIS. I've seen people, here and have established that you get a Welcome Letter first (30-45 days) and then couple of weeks later, the actual plastic. I don't have the text from the Welcome Letter, and was hoping that someone might have it.
