Got a request for fingerprint, but I need to reschedule it !

Hi,

I got a request for fingerprint today.
I took fingerprints 17 months ago but I see they've expired.

The scheduled FP is on 10/31. I have a meeting that day and if possible I would like to reschedule it. Should I reschedule this via Infopass, and is it OK to do so ?

Research all your options!

Marlon,

I've heard mixed stories about rescheduling. Some say it slows their case down quite a bit, while others don't have any problems with it.

Ideally, you want to show up for fingerprinting and get them done and be over with it. Do not give them any opportunity to delay or drag your case any longer than they have to.

That said, if you have to reschedule, you will and find some other date. If I'm not mistaken, the dates are selected by USCIS or local offices and the next day may or may not be ideal for you too.

You're one strange individual :D For months you've been going on and on about the time you've been waiting for your greencard. You get a request for fingerprints which could hasten your case and you're thinking of rescheduling? Unbelievable

strange but one who has a life to live.......marlon....do it as per your priorities....i have heard stories about how a case gets screwed up because of address change....etc....but i may not be able to stay at the same place for 3 years just because of it.....i will try....but i do have a life to live...

Well if I can't, I can't.
The case is that the Fingerprint notice is saying that if you need to reschedule, just show up on ANY FOLLOWING Wednesday. I called USCIS and they confirmed Wednesdays are the walk-in day. Therefore I am going there TODAY. Maybe that can be a good thing is that I may speed up the process a bit !
