Got A Letter From INS

One of my friends just got a letter from INS about two weeks after called INS to inquire the status. The letter says as follows:

¡°WAC 0125x xxxxx

The above referenced case has been selected for detailed review. This process will take longer than normal for processing. Should the Service discover information requiring further review and verification you will be contacted.¡±

I didn¡¯t remember anybody got and posted a letter like this before. Someone used to post a letter saying, ¡°¡_we are processing your case¡_you will receive a decision within three weeks¡_¡±

I¡¯m curious why the case has been selected for detailed review. Was it triggered by the phone inquiry, or before the inquiry the case was already under a detailed review category, or it is just a standard reply, or is there anything wrong with this case?

Please help!!!
 
Dude... Welcome to the club !!

I'm not sure what triggers it. I used to call quite a bit and one day talked to an angry IIO too. But I don't think we should add the two together. I have not received any letter per se but my case has been selected for special security screening too ;)

And i'm one who has never even used any of the 3 EADs or 3 APs so far... Always maintained valid visas... Donno what triggers this crap...

I'm taking this very +vely now.. I used to hate travelling on AP but now my lawyer told me it might take upto 1.5 years so I'm chilling out and am travelling to my home country in a month !! Enough of this crap :)

hmmm seems CSC is sending out letters. I got a letter recently that your case is pending .........^&&*$%%^$%#%#%# currently we are processing 12/16/01 cases $%$^&^%&%&%&%&&&&. Your will be processed accodingly . Please use out crappy we or phone service for any updtes instead of writing .

And funny thing is i never called or wrote to them about update. do't know what they r up to.

How do you know that your case selected for special security screening? Were you told by IIO, or got a letter, or told by your lawyer, or are you associated with one of ths 26 muslims countries?
 
Received Letter

I have received a letter a too stating that my case is under normal processing and would take normal processing time.

Then on the same day I recieved another letter with the same message addressed to me but having someone elses WAC # and A#.

Looks like CSC has some sort of bins in processing- normal and special. And it also looks like they have no good way of mapping addresses and WAC/A numbers.

Any one else received this kind of a message about processing.
 
Hopefully that is due to the pressure the fax campaigns and lawsuit is putting on them.

More power to us that CSC is actually trying to assure people that they will get processed soon.

Join the fax campaigns and lawsuit people. That is the only way to make things work.

Interesting!!!

And we thought the virus is only processed through emails, It can be via manual mails too :D
