Got a contractor job offer. Can I go for it?

Laid off two weeks ago and got a contractor job offer today. Can I go for it?

BTW, some side questions? Is it mandatory that I have to register for a S-corporation to work as a contractor? If so how do I register? Should I consult a lawyer?

if you do get a employment RFE, you have to produce letter of employment, pay stubs etc.,,, if the company is going to give you that kind of letter,, then you are okay. I guess, its a good idea to search for a permanent job simultaneously.

You have to register with the secretary of state if you are doing an Inc. , but for contractor you don't need to do anything. you can go to county registers office and register your own name. Your SS number is your TAX ID.
