Good news for asylee

This is the latest update from Nebraska service center. They will assign more immigration officers for the processing of asylum cases. I am not sure if this will mean removing the backlog since the Congress has not changed the 10,000 cap yet. However, this action means that asylees do not have to wait a long time between getting their fingerprints and their actual approvals. it may also mean that those who are supposed to get their green card in the next fiscal year will get it in the first couple of months of it ( october or november) Here is the link: http://www.immigration.com/newsletter1/nscupd010803.html

they talked about FY 2003, which expires on 9/30/03. So probably they want to make sure that all 10,000 quotas are used by that date.

You are so right :( They made this announcemet for fear of litigation and to comply with rules after they were sued by the AILA. This reminds me with the notice they sent out asking asylees who applied for green card on or before april 1st 1999 to contact them. Then when people contacted them the persons on the phone said they knew nothing about the notice. The bottom line is that they laugh at the court and they still play their dirty games and ask people for more evidence so that they would not give the 10000 visas. Bunch of bureaucratic idiots.

I am also concerned about using people who have worked on EB cases on asylee cases. More RFEs will be issued.

wow so the bottom line is that they will give less and less green cards. On one hand, they act as if they are working on more asylum cases but they actually ask for more evidence and more headache and more delays for asylees as they did with sessanga. On the other hand, they are delaying EB green cards. God help us:mad:
