I got an infopass yesterday, amzingly enough got an appointment same day.

Good news first: My EAD was approved yesterday and they are sending me a card...an email was actually send about an hour before I went to the infopass saying the same thing. Great!! Now I can quit my job and go take a new position that opened up elsewhere.

Bad News (sort of): The 485 is nowehere close to being approved. The really nice woman I spoke to said that I have at least another 4 months and more likely 6 months to go before even getting an interview notice. Las Vegas DO is really understaffed and things are much slower here than the rest of the country. She mentioned So. California is processing like crazy because they are actually OVERSTAFFED. The predicted volume in cases there was higher than actual cases so they way ahead of schedule. Las Vegas is just the opposite, predicted number of cases is below actual and they are understaffed.

So I suppose that's not that big a deal waiting another 4-6 months but it just kinda irritates me that some people are getting interview letters within 2 months and I have to wait 8 months. Oh well, life's a bitch right?

And remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Even AOS processes :D

Don't worry. Most of us who had earlier interviews got stuck in name check for a while. By the time your interview comes there shouldnt be any name check problem for you.
