After a 5 years of roller coaster ride with taking the slowest
possible route (like EB3 over EB2 , regular over RIR , AOS over CP )
this news is more of a relief than pleasure . Nevertheless still glad that
this long wait is over . I hope that good senses dawns upon INS and speed
up processing for the rest of the people waiting in the line too .
Here are my details:
EB3
PD - Sep 96
Labor finished - Jan 99
I140 finished - Aug 99
I485 applied - feb 00
FP - apr 01
No RFE
485 Approved - apr 27 01
Stamped in Newark - May 09 2001
These are some of my observations :
1. Trying to find the fastest route never helped me , it just
made my head go spinning .
2. Even though I found lot of better alternatives , I lacked the
guts to change the line .
3. When any process in between got stuck like labor / 485 it just
made me more agitated and my day to day mood was depended upon it .
In other words my happiness was remotely controlled by INS .
After being gloomy for 2-3 days , I used to see the folly in it and
got back to my life and started enjoying . But then again ....
4. Even the most important event of your life - marriage, is also dependent
upon it . Now thats\' really funny . As soon as my 140 got cleared , I
started hurrying my parents . Marriage finalised and done in 3 months .
(Now thats Jhat mangni pat byah) .
5. After my lovely wife came here instead of taking her to Statue of
Liberty and Empire State building I took her for medicals first and
then later for sight seeing .
6. A dozen number of times I thought of applying for Canadian PR and
got the forms even , but somehow never ended doing it .
7. Even though through out this process you will meet lot of
unscuplous people and employers , you do find lot of good ones too
and helpful people too who did good for all of us . To name a few -
ISN (Shailesh Gala , Muthu ... ) , myladoor , bhanu , Rajiv Khanna ....
Thanks to you folks . God bless you .
