Good moral character and time out of the US

Hello folks,

I am going to file my N-400 petition after 10/1/08 but I am a little concerned about the section 10 questions. I answered yes to 16 through 18 because I was charged and convicted of a public drunk offense and charged but not convicted (charges were dropped) of indecent exposure about 4 years ago. I AM NOT A PERVE! I stopped for a couple of beers after work with some friends and stopped for a pee in an unused, dark parking lot. A police car pulled in while I was peeing and after my field sobriety test the officer charged me with public drunk and indecent exposure (I did not get charged with a DUI). I will make all of this clear in my application. So, my question is: Do you think that I will be denied for lack of good moral character? The indecent exposure charge was expunged.

Also, how do I get the dates that I was not in the US tied down? My passport is stamped when I re-entered the US but not when I entered the UK. I never left for more than three weeks.

You'll probably be fine because you don't have multiple alcohol convictions (i.e. habitual drunkard), but you will need to have all your court docs available to prove the case disposition.

As always, a consultation with an experienced immigration lawyer is recommended in situations like these.

When was the conviction? If it was at least 4 years ago but less than 5 years, it would be better to just wait it out until 5 years have passed, so the conviction would be outside the 5-year moral character window.
