Guys,

Just needed ur advise. My H-1B is with Indian consulting Firm which is apparently quite strong, big and financially stable. But the downside is that there pay suks big time. I've just applied for my GC with them and thinking to apply in PERM as well soon. Should I stick with them and or should I join some other Indian Firm which pays really good but not so big and not much of marketing skills? I don't know if for PERM, it's advisable to stick around with more stable firm or if it really doesn't matter. Suggestions appreciated........

Thanks.

Interesting question. For PERM/GC, the important thing is that the company shows that it has the ABILITY to pay the prevailing wage. As the job offer is for the future, it is important that the company show sufficient proof that it can 'afford' to pay at least the prevailing wage once you get your green card.

The wage you make now and the future 'green card 'wage do not have to be the same, especially if the positions are different. However, a wide gap is probably not advisable e.g now you make $30K and the GC is for a job with the same company where you will make $50K.

I would stick with the established company...as the bigger company can prove that it has the 'ability to pay' if DOL or CIS decide to ask for further info.

P.S. I'm no lawyer!

Thanks for your reply. Well the difference in pay in around 40K. I wanted to know if this gap if acceptable when you're applying for a future position. If it does not raise a flag in GC process, then probably I'm okay with it. Any advise / suggestion?

Thanks
