Going to a full-time school while I-485 is filed

I have recently filed my I-485 and want to start an MBA (already got thru the school) in September this year. Looking at the current timeframes, I will either,

a) have an EAD/AP and no green card by end of August
Can I start school while I have an EAD and let the green card processing go on ? The school is not hung up about having an F-1 to start school, but is it fine with the INS, and how do I manage my employer not cancelling the processing ?

b) have my green card before end of AUgust
Can I start school by leaving my current employer right after I get the green card ?

Your help would be greatly appreciated !!!

if u r filing for gc thru employment based gc then u have to have a permanent job offer and need to either be employed at the employer filing I-140 or be prepared to join the employer immediately when the gc gets approved.

I suggest that at least for one year after obtaining gc u should be employed at that employer

However if u r planning to change employers due to AC21 portability law then u still need to be employed in the same job description as the Labor application was filed

If u r filing for gc not thru employment based then the above does not apply to u

Once you obtain the GC you can just quit from work

An employment offer (not a job) is also satisfactory. Once you obtain the GC, then you can quit and study FT.
