Going for H1B Stamping in Canada - Please advice

Hi,
I was on L2 and got I-797 Approved on Oct 07. I'm going for H1B stamping in Canada and from there traveling to my home country (India) due to an emergency situation.
My Questions:
1. Is it riskier to get the H1B stamped in Canada since its being my first time?
2. Do I have to return my I-94 (attached at the bottom of I-797) since I will be traveling to my Home Country from canada?
2a. Will i be asked to show the I-94 at the POE in Canada? (in case if I have returned my I-94)

Hi,
I havent done this in a very long time, But when I did get my H-1 stamped in Canada (Twice actually) did not have any problems.
When I went for my Canadian visa, I told the visa officer that I was planning on going to Canada for my H-1 stamp, thats exactly what I told the immigration officer in Canada.
Went to the US Consulate/Embassy at the appointment time, had a quick interview and received my passport back the same day (although some people have had to wait upto 3 days).

Curious question is why dont you just get the H-1 Stamped in India?
