One of my friend is planning to going back to India. His Green card is in 485 stage it's been there like for more than 6 months. Please suggest what is the best way to keep active the green card process. He has approved travel doc. I appreciate your help.

If he is not retrogressed, and not stuck in security check then he will probably get his green card before expiry of travel document. But what is his plan to keep the green card active. You can't stay outside for more than 6 months when on GC without pre authorization.
