Now that GOP control both legislative and executive branches of US Government are the immigration laws going to get taugher?

Republicans have proved in past they don't favor late year increasements of immigation to US. Would it be a reasonable assumption that immigrat-friendly laws will get veto-ed? Stricter ones appear? Generally, getting LC/GC will get worse?

Tod,

Keep the hope alive, but it will never happen. No matter who is in power or who controls senate or congress. They do not have b** to clean this mess. They are just bunch of vote hungry politicians. It hurts legal immigrants, who are law-abiding tax paying folks like all other Americans. Look at Florida where president’s brother relies heavily on Hispanic votes specially Cubans by promising them amnesty or relaxed immigration rules. Why they are treating Cubans different than any other nationality in the world. Why Bush was up for granting 5 million or more illegal Mexicans amnesty before September 11, 2001? Nothing is going to change except we will see longer lines to get permanent residence for legal immigrants and amnesty for BORDER JUMPERS.

Good Luck,

RamFan

You are right Ramfan, as long as we have all these politicians hungry for votes things won't change. It does not matter who is President or who controls Congress (Senate or House). They will keep passing law's or issueing executive orders to make other suffer....
