Please help. I am on valid H1b visa, completing 3 years in this October. Its currently under transfer and extension with USCIS, with status still under review. I have a son currently High School 'Senior' applying to different Universities for next year college admission. He is currently on H4 and moving forward once he gets admission to college we will be changing his visa status from H4 to F1. For this we will be visiting Inda for his visa status changes/his visa stamping/and also our Visa stamps (as I also came on F1 five years back and converted on H1 and havent yet gone back to country and had my H1B stamped)
I would like to know:
1. IF we will able to apply for student loan for my sons Undergraduate studies, knowing that the max extension on my H1b will be for 3 years and standard period of Undergrad loan is for 4 years?
2. If so, someone can provide me list/name of Institutions/banks that provide student loans for undergrad studies for case like us (ie who are not US citizens, even GC Processing is not yet initiated (tho my current employer has agreed to initiate the GC processing soon), and with max H1B extension for 3 years)
3. Can my son on his own F1 visa status apply for student loan without showing my visa status in loan application? will that be helpful?
