Getting schengen visa while on EAD/AP with expired H1

Hello,

We are thinking of going to Europe. Our I485 is pending and our EAD and AP are valid. My H1 is expired.

Does anyone have any information on what is required for a schengen visa and if there are any issues with travelling to Schengen countries without a valid US visa but a valid AP and pending I-485 application.

I would really appreciate any help.

I don't know what you mean by the word "issues", but if you mean "problems", then there shouldn't be any. The only thing is to make sure the European consulate which issues your visa (and that was a correct usage of the word "issues") is satisfied that you are returning to the US. As such, you need to ask that consulate if they are okay with an AP document as evidence of this.

Thanks for the information. I did contact the Swiss consulate and they said its ok to use AP.
