Getting OCI stamp on US passport and getting OCI booklet

Folks,

I have applied for OCI for myself and my wife. Our case is still under process - but I do have a question. Once the OCI document reaches the New York CGI (where I applied since I live in New Jersey); I will go personally to the consulate to pick up the OCI booklet and get a stamp on the US passport. I wanted to know if I can carry both my and my wife's UP passports and take care of it for both of us OR will my wife have to be there in person?

We have a small baby so my wife would avoid going to the consulate if possible. Let me know what you guys thoughts are; and if anybody has come across this.

Thanks a lot.

You can carry your wife's passport and get the OCI stamp on her US PP and collect the OCI booklet on her behalf. It is not necessary that your wife be with you for stamping and collecting OCI booklet since you are planning to go there in person.

Visit the link http://www.indiacgny.org/php/showContent.php?linkid=406 where it clearly states that one can bring all passports.

Good luck.
