getting married very close to GC approval??

HI,
I am expecting my GC approval in another few months. I have a plan of getting married in next month. I dont; have h1B to bring my spouse on h4.
I am trvelling to india on AP.

if i get married before GC approval, How can i process GC for spouse.
She is going to be in india only after marriage. I can do CP for her only after my GC approval.?? Is it So?

How long will it take to process GC(On CP) for spouse compared to one getting married after GC approval.

What application should i file to process GC on CP for spouse.

What are the documents i should bring to US for the proof of my marriage
so that i can change my marital status to "Married".

Note: I have 2nd FP pending in another few months( in Sep 2004)

----------After your approval your wife will have to wait a long time before she can join you even with CP.( You are looking atleast 2-3years).

Also Nobody can be sure about when there 485 will be aproved. They have to get your FP from FBI and its going to take a long time.......
If you are lucky then you may be able to apply 485 for your wife before all this happens..

There is something called Follow To Join (FTJ). Do a search on this in immigration forums. You can file a FJ if the marriage has taken place before the 485 approval. Wait time in this case for the spouse to join u in the US is about 6-10 months.
If the marriage takes place after the 485 approval, it could take about 4-5 years.
I am not sure if one can have only the spouse doing CP. All primary and derivatives need to be either on CP or 485. Again I am not sure on this.

Since you have done FP in July 2003 There is very good chance that it may get approved before the expiry. In many cases including mine it happened that way. If the marriage is done before the approval she will eligible to come using the FTJ(CP) immediately. you need to file I-824. If you are in Bombay you send the attorney certified copies and it will be quick since you need not have to wait for I-824 approval. If you want to do at Chennai You have to wait until I-824 is approved.
If the marriage happens after the approval date then It will go into family category whose priority date is still in 2000.

Here all you need marriage certificate. At the time of Interview they may ask for photographs , Invitation letters
In case you are an Hindu FYI Recently a case was denied for not having the photo of Saptpadi (Seven steps) as they did marriage at Arya samaja. If you are other then Hindu you have to have suitable photographs (I do not know what kind).
