Hello,
My fiance is from China, and we will be submitting an application for her green card right after getting married in early July. She is currently on an F-1 Visa, OPT, working as a teacher for a school district. However, she is leaving this school district after the end of the school year, and has not found a new full-time teaching job yet for next year, so she might not be able to extend her OPT.
However, she has found several places that are interested in her for part-time teaching positions; she is considering taking a couple part time jobs.
However, we are not sure if she will be able to start working in September, since she won't have a green card yet. I am seeing that we can apply for the I-765 for an EAD card, but that can take 90 days, past September. So does that mean she has to go 3 months without working? If she can't start working in September, she won't be able to work at schools, since they all start around this time. Does anyone have thoughts on this, any tip?
Thanks!
