Greetings,
I have been reading a lot of threads on how marriage before 485 approval makes a difference than after GC.
My fiancee and I have been planning the wedding ceremony for the end of the year. She is in India, I am in the US.
I am in 485 application, AP, and EAD. I do not have H1B anymore. I just received RFE for 485 and I am very happy it is coming soon, but concerned if we wait until the end of the year to marry, the process of bringing her will be much much longer than before I have the GC.
She has a B1 tourist visa.
Based on this, should we have a civil wedding before 485 approval in the US or at home ?
If in the US, and she enters in B1 visa to get married are there any issues with her intent to change status ?
If in India, how long does she have to wait to come after I file a follow-to-join appication ?
