Getting H4 Visa Appointment in chennai, need info

I need to get H4 visa appointment in chennai. My employer already applied for H1b transfer (2months now), but have not received the approval yet. Can I make the appointment now using vfs service by paying the necessary fee in HDFC. I have the WAC number with me. Any body can help me out in this...
