I was recently granted Cancellation of Removal by a IJ. The DHS appealed but their appeal was dismissed, so I am on a clear path to the Greencard (will take a few months for paperwork etc.). My wife of 12 years is also out of status, the COR proceedings only applied to me. She can benefit from the COR by me filing a I-130, but it appears that it will take several years for her priority date to become current. In the meantime, I will be a LPR and she will have no status whatsoever (as far as I understand, filing the I-130 and getting it approved will not give you status). Is this the only way to get her legalized? She won't be able to renew her driver license for a couple years and still be facing the risk of deportation in the meantime. If she had to leave, we all would have to leave, which somehow defeats the purpose of the COR? Any advice?
