Getting Divorce from Sponsoring Spouse

My friend recently received her GC. Her husband sponsored her. Frankly it was a pretty good marriage until the husband realized he didn't like his wife's new found confidence after she became independent, and now he has become a sort of bully. She is anxious to work it out because she still loves him, but just wants to know what divorce options there are if things escalate and what won't impact her negatively in the long-run?

So he does not like his wife anymore because she can think by herself? give me a break...Well that was my personal opinion, discard it if you want, but I couldn't help to say it  . Does he a USC or permanent resident?

Answer: she has nothing to worry except that if the goverment (which is not so far) wants to impose the Affidavit of Support, he will still be reliable of it and there is no way to take it out until the 40 credits and the other factors are met by her. She got a non conditional green card.

Good luck,
