Getting a GC as a consultant

I want to work as a consultant in my field. I have been in the US for 11 years and a half (H1B for 6 years then O1). A US friend of mine is interested in starting a consulting firm with me but it is unclear at this point how much consulting he will really be doing. Others may join us later but it is unclear as well. This will not be a consulting business where I work for the same company for several years. I would be working with multiple companies at once providing services that are hard to find. I expect most contracts to last 2 to 3 months so within a year or so, I would be able to prove that I have 5 or 6 different customers. Here is how I envision this at this point:
My partner starts a LLC, hires me, sponsors me for a new O1 first, then for a GC. I won't own any stock in the company but I will be the one managing it.

Do you foresee any problem with that? I know the O1 visa should be a piece of cake to renew but I am more concerned about the GC as I've heard that they check in the company history quite a bit.

Thanks in advance,

franck-
