I recently went to the states for a new business I work for and was given a b1 visa for one month. I believe this is because my return ticket was only for two weeks later.
I'm returning again in a few days on business and will need to be there for almost 3 months to visit a client and solicit new business. I'm comfortable in obtaining the 3 month visa as I have a reference letter from a client who needs our company's services for that period as well as a letter from my employter. However I would like to get a longer, maybe 6 month b1 visa in case I have to return in the first few months of 2004. Should my boss request this length of visa in the letter or does the INS inspector just decide to give visas of this length based on the description of work that will be performed in the letter?
If I don't get a 6 month visa and need to return later (ie beginning of 2004) will it be a lot harder because I already had 2 b1 visas?
Any answers would be great
