Get visa outside of the states

Hi, everyone:

I heard some news today from my friend regarding getting H,O visa from outside of the state. My friend told me that if you need to renew your H or O visa, you would have to go to your home country to get it. This is a new policy released from INS on June 1st. Does anybody hear the same news? My concern is do we need to do the same thing for updating the EAD?

As long you will not leave US, you won't need visa. You can only renew H1 extensions. If you leave US and your visa has expired, then you have to get your visa at your home country. You cannot revalidate visa in US (St. Louis) as before.This is only for H1 visa revalidation, and nothing to do with EAD.
