My wife attended personal interview for H4 visa.
They asked for the following documents :

Principal certified or notarized state and federal tax returns for the last 3 years.
Original W-2's forms and pay stubs for every year that the beneficiary worker has worked in the US.
An account of your 2002 earnings, If less then mandated by the LCA, Please explain

and Chennai consulate kept the following documents with them:

1)My original W2 -2001.
2)Photocopy of Company B's H1
3)My current employer's (company C) 6 months original pay stubs and LCA.

How should I get the above documents back?I don't want them to have my originals.

Caution !

If you have a difference in your salary numbers from what is mentioned in your LCA and your employer's W2, you may be in trouble.

- if the difference is around + or - 10 %, I think they are allowing it, but if it is above that, in any of the past 3 yrs, your visa will be refused, be it H1 or H4

- this is because if you are not getting LCA mandated pay, then you are in violation of labor laws

- chennai is extremely strict about these issues, please be very careful

- no reasons like unpaid leave, vacation, etc or any other explanation is being accepted
