My wife has applied for adjustment of status claiming me as the beneficiary and I intend to apply for CP claiming my wife as the beneficiary. We have received I-485 receipts and EAD card receipts from the INS for both of us. However I intend to speed up the GC process and therefore I intend to take this approach. There are varying opinions on this issue ranging from friends to lawyers.
Is it legal to claim each other as the beneficiary?
Is it legal to even start the process like this?
What is the alternative if any?
