I am sure this has been done before but just for grins I looked at about 60 posted timelines which produced the following generic timeline. I ignored very long timelines which presumably were due to very special circumstances. Also I realize that different offices have varying backlogs which can result in long waits.
Application to Priority Date or check cashed
Range 1-14 days, average 7 days
Priority Date or check cashed to Fingerprint Notice
Range 5-23 days, average 15 days
Fingerprint Notice to Fingerprint Appointment
Range 5-23 days, average 13 days
Fingerprint Appointment to Interview Notice
Range 13-50 days, average 30 days
Interview Notice to Interview
Range 30-70 days, average 51 days
Interview – Oath Notice
Range 0-8 days, average 4 days
Oath Notice – Oath Ceremony
Range 6-28 days, average 17 days
Notes:
1) Remarkable how consistent the results are and how short the total time has become.
2) I thought background security checks took place in the Fingerprint Appointment to Interview Notice period but this is extraordinarily short; average 30 days.
3) The USCIS seems to give applicants plenty of study time as the Interview Notice to Interview wait average 51 days.
4) Things generally move very fast once the interview is passed.
Does anybody have any comments or feedback on this? Is it representative? Does it have meaning?
