Hi, here's my deal. Please offer any advice!

I am a US citizen. I met and married my husband (Romanian nationality) in Italy. He is here legally, I am not. We have been married for almost a year and a half. When we decided to move to the US, I had to apply for his I-130 from my parents' address in NYC, since I am not in Italy legally. We mailed our I-130 app in April 2004. It has been approved, but things are unclear from this point on. We have sent in the agent selection form and affidavit of support fee and are now expecting another fee, of $335, after which I have no clue what will happen.

I am going back to the NY in October, and we are not sure if I should just stay there and find a job and get settled, or return, after my vacation, to Italy. We are willing to be apart from each other for a few months, if that's what it will take to complete his I-130 and get him to the US. But if it's going to take another 5 months or more, obviously we would like to spend that time together.

Is there anything I can do to speed up the process? Any idea how much longer it could take? Thank you!

P.s.

And if I decide to stay in the US after October and wait for him there (so I can work, etc), is there any way I can get him allowance to visit or stay with me at intervals while we're waiting? I know he'll have to return to Italy for his inteview and medical exam.
